This past Sunday we had the pleasure of hearing Guy Wasko, Pastor of @tgceastvillage, speak on John 4. A Samaritan woman experiences an encounter with Jesus at the well, where He points her toward a life springing forth from scandalous mercy and offers her deliverance from shame. Jesus turns local prejudice on it's head by initiating this conversation in order to offer her a life of freedom.
.
What would your life look like if you were free of shame? What would your conversations look like?
What are the broken places of your story that need Christ's healing?
What would it look like to be an agent of that healing mercy for others?
Our next First Tuesday Feast is happening two weeks from tonight!
.
Join us at our monthly Feast on Tuesday, March 5th; a Chelsea gathering to share a free dinner with our broader community and experience belonging together. You’re encouraged to invite whomever you encounter, from the office to the subway, to experience radical love and hospitality (and a free, hot, delicious meal).
.
All are welcome! No RSVP needed. We hope to see you there.
Join us this Sunday the 24th after church for our Newcomers Dinner! Being new to any community can be lonely, hard and tiring. Our hope is to show you a warm welcome, radical love and generous hospitality as Christ did. We want to know and see you in this city where it’s easy to feel isolated. If you’re new or new-ish, come join us!
.
Get plugged in, connected to other new people and leaders, and hear more about our mission & values. 🍕🥗🍝 RSVP: tgcchelsea.com/newcomersdinner
This Sunday we are pleased to welcome guest Guy Wasko, Pastor of @tgceastvillage, to share his wisdom with us! All are welcome to join us for service at 4:30pm at St. Paul’s.
.
Guy is also currently the Assistant Director and Church Planting Catalyst of Redeemer City to City.
“As a catalyst, Guy helps CTC reach its ambitious church planting goals throughout center city Manhattan.. Guy’s around to build relationships and mobilize the church toward exponential growth.”
This past Sunday, Derek Worthington powerfully asked us “To whom have you been sent?”
.
In Luke 4:14-21, at the early stages of his ministry, Jesus makes it clear in Nazareth He has come to preach good news to the poor. He clearly identifies that he has been anointed for this specific purpose. He begins to move the discussion away from debates about law, the powerful and who is 'holier' to the weak and marginalized and lifting them up.
.
Derek invited us to reflect:
Who are you called to?
What's your mission?
Are you uncomfortable engaging political and structural realities in the context of religion?
Where do human compassion and acts of justice intersect with your regular rhythms?
.
Thank you for sharing your wisdom, Derek!

Join us before church this Sunday, February 17th from 2:30-3:30pm at St. Paul's for our Movement and Spirituality Workshop! This workshop focuses on strengthening and lengthening the body, as well as physically embodying our spiritual lives. Co-ed, all are welcome, please bring a mat!
.
Led by Sarah Panayiotou. RSVP: sarah@babelmovement.org
